the quiet distance
About seven months into building Conscious Cards, something quietly cracked. Not in sales or feedback — but in us.
We had to make some conscious shifts in our life. We chose to focus — pouring our time and energy into building We Reflect. And slowly, we drifted from the life we once knew: the late-night hangouts, the random road trips, the easy yes to every plan. We had to say no to many of those moments — not because we didn’t care, but because we were choosing something else. And over time, that created a quiet distance between us and the circle that once felt like home.
We set out to bring people closer — and somewhere along the way, ended up feeling more disconnected. There were moments we wondered if it was worth it, if choosing this path meant letting go of a version of life we once loved.
And yet — while the world around us felt quieter, on the other side of that doubt, we saw what these cards were doing. People were using them in ways we hadn’t even imagined — in therapy, in relationships, on solo retreats. That’s when we realised: this wasn’t just a deck of prompts.
For our users — the cards found their own rhythm in people’s lives. Some made it part of their morning ritual — pulling a question a day, journaling whatever came up. One person told us it helped her reconnect with her mom after months of silence.
Facilitators brought the cards into circles and retreats — blending them into breath work, meditations, and check-ins.
And for us — Conscious Cards had become a mirror. A companion. We were becoming more honest, more grounded, and surprisingly — more in love with each other than we’d ever been.
We were never trying to sell a product. We were simply sharing our experience.
So, when the noise got quiet and the feedback loop felt dry, we asked ourselves: "Can we keep showing up even if no one claps? Can we keep sharing even when the circle shrinks?"
The answer came slow, but it’s a clear YES! We’ll keep sharing what moves us. We'll keep learning from our own reflections. We’ll keep inviting others to feel a little more, to speak a little deeper — even if just once. Not for approval. Not for validation.
If you're still reading this, maybe you’re in a similar place. Maybe you're wondering if what you’re doing matters. Maybe your own circle feels a little quieter lately.
Here’s what we’d say: Keep going. Not because it’s easy. But because it’s yours and this journey will shape you — whether others see it or not. And if you ever need a tool — we’ve got some cards for that. But more than that, we’ve got our story. And we’ll keep sharing it.
No expectations. Just love,
from the house of we*re.
