The question, that I never asked myself
Being a co-creator of conscious cards is one thing—but experiencing this gamified tool as a player is a whole different journey. And that’s the story I wanted to share— a tiny piece of my experince.
To be honest, while curating these questions from several books and the internet, I found myself repeatedly pausing and thinking, “Whooa, I’ve never actually asked myself that before—not even once in my life.” There were moments when I didn’t have an answer. And in those silences, I discovered the value of reflecting back — to really feel both heavy and lighter emotions I’ve been through.
Long story short, within two years of learning and unlearning in the process of creating of we*re, we had launched conscious cards in January, 2025. It had been a long, winding journey—one filled with learning, late nights, and the busiest stretch of days. In the first week of February, we traveled to Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, for a small gathering with a group of travelers and explorers. That’s where we brought the cards into play—not as creators, but simply as fellow players.
That’s when a question found me from the Sunshine Bloom (Happiness) deck: 'What small win this week made you unexpectedly happy?
I struggled. I dug deep into my memory—but nothing came. And what did come to mind were only the big and obvious milestones.
So instead of answering, I passed the soul cube (dice) and picked an affirmation card from the seed of awakening deck. It read:
“I find joy in the simple things and cultivate gratitude for the small wonders in life.”
That question stayed with me. It kept echoing over the next few days. That’s when I realised just how much I’d been rushing, struggling to find balance. And gradually, I also began to noticing those small moments of win.
That one question became a gentle reminder for me to slow down... to notice, to appreciate, to be present. That one question reminded me to embrace the tiny sparks of joy.
Happiness isn't always loud—it’s quiet, like a whisper I almost miss. And that whisper is something to be deeply grateful for.
How often do we take a moment to reflect on a small wins in our life?
That tiny bundle of joy could be anything: a breeze when you’re sweating in the sun, a new bud on your plant, the first sip of coffee made with love, a blink of affection from your cat, or simply… being alive.
Take a moment today to look for those small glimmers. Give it a try—you might discover something beautiful or unexpected within yourself. Let’s practice together.
With love,
Aleena
